  • Are you insured?
    Yes, all of our cleaners are covered by our comprehensive public liability cover. Our insurance policy will cover any accidental damages to your property caused by any of our cleaners up to 1 million pounds. Our cleaners are insured for theft and key loss. There is a 250.00 excess on all claims.
  • What if I'm not happy with my cleaning service?
    We guarantee your services. We promise that in the unlikely event where you are not satisfied with the result from a job,we will continue to clean until your are happy or we will arrange to come back and re-do the clean absolutely free of charge.
  • Do Elbow Grease Cleaners use chemicals to clean?
    In all forms, the best cleaning results are achieved by the use of chemicals. Elbow Grease may use solvents, powders, detergents and other solutions during the cleaning process. Manufacturers in the cleaning industry work to the highest specifications for quality and safety, designing products specifically for the cleaning of general surfaces, carpets and soft furnishings; and for safe use within the domestic environment. If you have asthma or are chemically sensitive, Elbow Grease Cleaners will use specialist chemicals designed to avoid causing any discomfort. We also offer environmentally friendly services with specific Green cleaning products.
  • Will I need to be at home during the clean?
    We are happy to clean whether you're at home or not. As a trusted cleaning company, many of our customers supply us with a key, or leave one with a neighbour, to undertake cleaning while they're away from their home. We do request that the property be vacant during the service to ensure we can provide an efficient and quality service.
  • What are your office working hours?
    Our customer services team will take your calls from Monday to Friday, 9.00 - 17.30 and Saturday 10.00 - 14.00.

  • Do you charge per hour or per job?
    Our carpet cleaning is NOT charged per hour but per job. We gather the information about your carpet either over the phone or by a site survey - the type of carpet, the size, stains and condition and provide a quote for the whole job. Once we give you the price it will not change, unless there is a difference in excess of 10%.
  • Are you insured?
    Yes, all of our cleaners are covered by our comprehensive public liability cover.   • What type of carpet cleaning do you do

  • How long will my carpet or furniture take to dry and how soon will it be back in use?
    Drying time depends on many conditions, including how soiled the item was, how much water was used, weather conditions, indoor atmosphere, etc. However, in most normal cases, carpets and soft furnishings should be dry within 6-8 hours. If drying is a concern mention it to the NCCA member, they will be able to advise on drying times and, if required, use some specialist techniques to speed up the process. Please note that there is usually an extra charge for this service.
  • How often should I have my carpets cleaned?
    Most manufacturers recommend that carpets are professionally cleaned by a qualified technician every 12-18 months. Carpets should be cleaned on a regular basis and before they become heavily soiled. Allowing soil to build up will significantly reduce the life of a carpet.
  • Will professional cleaning affect the protector on my carpet/will it need to be re-applied afterwards?
    It is important to note that protector will wear off of any carpet that is in use. Walking, vacuuming, general wear and cleaning will all have an effect on this. Carpet protectors shield the fibres, they are designed to prevent spillages, dropped items and other general wear affecting the carpet directly. However, in doing so it will lose some of its effectiveness and should be re-applied on a regular basis to ensure continued protection.
  • Will my carpets re-soil quicker following cleaning
    Todays chemicals and detergents are manufactured to the highest specifications for quality and effectiveness. Professional cleaners will only use detergents designed for the removal of soil from carpets and upholstery and, when used correctly, these will not lead to any rapid re-soiling. Detergents that are not designed for use on carpets and upholstery may cause re-soiling problems.
  • Will all the stains come out?
    No guarantee can be made that any particular stain will be removed. Some stains permanently damage the carpet fibres and no amount of specialist cleaning will reverse this. We have received advanced training for spot and stain removal and will be able to deal with most problems. If you have a stain you are concerned about, discuss it with one of our technician and they will be happy to advise.
  • Do I have to move furniture?
    In most cases Elbow Grease Cleaners will be happy to move furniture, however there may be an additional charge for this service. It is important that any valuable items or furniture containing valuables are moved by the customer.
  • Is there a risk of shrinkage?
    If a carpet is properly installed, it is very rare that the cleaning process will cause it to shrink. Our technicians carry out a full inspection prior to any cleaning and test for potential problems such as shrinkage.

End Of Tenancy Cleaning FAQ

  • Do I need to supply any cleaning materials?
    Not at all. While many people will offer the use of their own cleaning supplies and may prefer it, our end of tenancy cleaning teams will arrive with everything they need to complete the clean.
  • What is not included as part of the end of tenancy cleaning ?
    We will not try to wash the walls and the ceilings. We will however clean all cobwebs. We can wash/clean the walls if you ask us to do it. This service will cost extra and the entire responsibility will be yours should any damage to the walls occurs. Not included in the end of tenancy cleaning are: carpet cleaning, exterior windows, any external areas (patios, gardens, external staircases, parking spaces, balconies, terraces). These services are available at extra cost.

  • Do you clean the oven?
    Yes. Cleaning of the oven, cupboards and other appliances, inside and out, is included in the price for Professional End of Tenancy Cleaning.
  • Do I have to defrost my fridge and freezer in advance?
    It would be greatly appreciated if you defrost your fridge, freezer or deep freeze in advance. This will help speed up the cleaning and deodorizing process, leaving them in the best possible condition
  • Do I have to pay extra for any congestion charges or parking fees?
    The price quoted is all-inclusive of taxes and services. The only thing that might apply on top of the price, that's the congestion/ parking fee. However, if you provide a free parking slot, you won't pay anything in addition.
  • Do you clean windows from the outside?
    Window cleaning from the inside is included in the price quoted for one-off or end of tenancy cleaning. If you wish to have the outer windows cleaned and they are reachable from the ground or inside the property, we are happy to clean them for a small charge.
  • What are your office working hours?
    Our customer services team will take your calls from Monday to Friday, 9.00 - 17.30 and Saturday 10.00 - 14.00.
  • Can you carry out the job when I am at work?
    Yes, of course. You can leave a set of keys to your neighbour, porter or letting/estate agent. Please provide the contact details where we have to pick up the keys from including a name and a telephone number. We will collect the keys, do the job and then return the keys to the initial collection address or post them back through the letterbox. Please note that we may charge you 10.00 if keys have to be picked up from a different postcode. We insist that you are present at the time of completion so you can inspect the results and pay any outstanding balances to the cleaners!
